Best iPhone Cleaner App? Seven Apps Compared on Features, Price and Privacy
By CleanX TeamPublished
Quick answer
- No one app suits everyone: most cleaner apps cover duplicate and similar photos; they differ more in price model and in the data they say they collect.
- Compare the free trial length, the weekly price after it, whether there’s a one-time option, and the App Privacy label on the App Store page.
- Before paying for any of them, try the free tools built into iOS.
We make CleanX, so we’re not neutral. To keep this useful, everything about the other apps below comes from their own App Store listings in the US store on October 27, 2026: descriptions, the in-app purchases the page shows, and the privacy labels their developers filed. We didn’t test the other apps ourselves, so we don’t rank them; we lay out the facts that tend to matter. The apps are listed by number of App Store ratings, not by quality. CleanX’s own limits: it isn’t on the App Store yet, its prices aren’t published, and email clean-up works with Gmail only.
What to compare in an iPhone cleaner app
- The price after the trial. Most cleaner apps charge a weekly subscription after a free trial. Check both the trial length and the weekly price.
- A one-time option. Some apps sell a lifetime purchase, so you don’t have to keep a weekly subscription running.
- The App Privacy label. It shows the data the developer says may be used to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- The features you actually need. Photos are covered by almost every app; contacts, email and video compression vary.

Frequently asked questions
Which app should I use to clean my iPhone?
It depends on what you need. If photos are the problem, most apps cover duplicates and similar photos; compare trial length, the weekly price after it, any one-time option, and the App Privacy label.
Is there a completely free cleaner app for iPhone?
The built-in iOS tools are free: the Duplicates album, Recently Deleted and storage recommendations. Most cleaner apps charge for full use after a trial; Clever Cleaner’s listing describes free daily limits and Cleaner Kit’s mentions free essential tools. See [free iPhone cleaner options](/en/how-to/free-iphone-cleaner-app). In CleanX, scanning is free.
Which cleaner app doesn’t track you?
Every other app compared here lists at least one category under Data Used to Track You. AI Cleaner and Clever Cleaner list only Identifiers. CleanX isn’t on the App Store yet and has no label.
Does Apple recommend a cleaner app?
Apple’s storage articles describe built-in tools such as storage recommendations, Optimize iPhone Storage and the Duplicates album, rather than third-party cleaner apps.
Are cleaner apps worth paying for?
They can save time if you have thousands of photos or want contacts and email in one place. Try the free iOS tools first, and if you subscribe, note when the trial ends.
