Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and CleanX (“we”, “us”) for the CleanX app on iPhone and Android. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top of this page. We’ll tell you about significant changes in the app in advance; for subscribers they apply from the next billing period, and you can cancel before then if you don’t agree.

2. The app

CleanX helps you free up space on your phone: it finds duplicate, similar and large photos and videos, compresses videos, finds duplicate contacts, cleans up Gmail if you connect it, keeps private files in an encrypted vault and, on Android, helps you uninstall apps. Photos, videos and contacts are analyzed on your phone. CleanX has no user accounts and no servers of its own.

Features may differ between iPhone and Android and may change over time. The app needs a supported version of iOS or Android, and some features need permissions you grant in your phone’s settings.

3. Who can use CleanX

You must be at least 13 years old to use CleanX. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you.

4. License

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use CleanX on devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store or Google Play rules. You may not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or try to get the source code of the app, except where the law allows it, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

5. Acceptable use

Use CleanX only for your own files and accounts, or ones you’re allowed to manage. Don’t use it to access someone else’s phone, photos, contacts or email without permission, to break the law, or to interfere with the app or the services it connects to.

6. CleanX Pro, free trials and payments

Scanning is free, and so is uninstalling apps on Android. Deleting, merging, compressing, converting Live Photos, backing up contacts, adding photos, videos and files to the vault, email cleanup and premium charging animations need CleanX Pro, offered as:

• Weekly plan: an auto-renewing subscription billed every week at the price shown in the app before you buy. New subscribers may get a 7-day free trial; Apple or Google decides who is eligible. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before), the weekly price is charged and the plan renews every week until you cancel.
• Lifetime: a one-time purchase that unlocks CleanX Pro on your store account with no subscription and doesn’t expire, for as long as the app is available.
• Billing: payments are processed by Apple or Google with the account you use in the store; we never see your payment details. Prices can vary by country and may change; a price change for a subscription applies only after the store notifies you as its rules require.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel the subscription in your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. After cancelling, you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under consumer law.
• Restore: if you reinstall the app or use a new phone with the same store account, tap Restore Purchases.

7. Your files and deletions

You decide what CleanX deletes, merges or compresses; nothing happens without your confirmation. Please check before you confirm:

• Photos and videos: on iPhone, deleted items go to Recently Deleted for 30 days; on Android, deletions are usually permanent.
• Compressed videos: compression lowers quality and, once you confirm, the smaller copy replaces the original.
• Contacts: merging and deleting can’t be undone directly; a backup made in CleanX can restore contacts, but not every field.
• Email: CleanX moves emails you select to Gmail’s Trash; Gmail decides how long Trash keeps them.

8. The vault

Files in the vault are encrypted with a key derived from your passcode and a secret stored only on your phone. We can’t see your passcode, open your vault or recover it. If you forget the passcode, reset the vault or delete the app, the files in it are lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.

9. Gmail and other services

Email cleanup works with your Google account and is subject to Google’s terms; you can disconnect it at any time. Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play and are verified through RevenueCat. These services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren’t responsible for them.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its design, texts and logos belong to us or our licensors. Your photos, videos, contacts and emails remain yours; we don’t get any rights to them.

11. Disclaimer

We work to make CleanX accurate and reliable, but it’s provided “as is”. Results such as duplicate groups, the photo marked Best, size estimates and freed space are suggestions and can be wrong; review them before you delete. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give warranties beyond those required by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for data you chose to delete, merge or compress. Except for intent or gross negligence, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for CleanX in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

13. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our losses from claims by others that arise because you broke these terms or the law while using CleanX. This doesn’t apply to the extent we caused the loss.

14. Ending these terms

You can stop using CleanX at any time by deleting it; remember to cancel any subscription separately. We may stop offering the app or suspend your use if you seriously break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as 10 to 12 and 16, continue to apply.

15. Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, claims under consumer protection or privacy laws, and any warranty claims beyond Apple’s refund described below. If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim. If the app doesn’t work as warranted, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm you aren’t in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. If you downloaded CleanX from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. Your use must also follow the App Store or Google Play terms and any third-party agreements that apply, such as your mobile data plan.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes go to the competent courts and consumer arbitration committees of Türkiye. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring claims in its courts.

17. General

If a part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of these terms doesn’t mean we waive it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about CleanX.
