App Uninstaller for Android: Remove Several Apps at Once
By CleanX TeamPublished
Quick answer
- Google’s free Files by Google app can do it: tap Menu › Clean, then Select apps on the Delete unused apps card, pick several apps and tap Uninstall.
- Google Play and Settings uninstall one app at a time.
- An uninstaller app can list and sort your apps, but Android still opens its own uninstall prompt for each app it removes.
- Some system apps that came with your phone can’t be uninstalled by any app; on a Pixel you can disable most of them.
If you only want to remove one app, see how to uninstall apps on Android. This page is about clearing out several apps in one go: the built-in option Google offers, and what a separate app uninstaller adds. Menu names can differ by phone maker.
Uninstall several apps at once with Files by Google
Step 1: Open Clean
Open Files by Google and tap Menu › Clean.
Step 2: Pick the apps
On the Delete unused apps card, tap Select apps and select the apps you want to uninstall.
Step 3: Uninstall
Tap Uninstall, then tap Ok in the confirmation dialog.
What Google Play and Settings can do
In the Google Play Store, Profile icon › Manage apps & devices › Manage lists the apps you installed; Google Play Help describes selecting one app and tapping Uninstall. In Settings, you also uninstall from each app’s page. To find candidates first, open Settings › Apps › Unused apps: Google says this lists apps you haven’t used for a long time.
What an app uninstaller can and can’t do
- It can list your installed apps in one place, show how much space each takes and sort them, so you can tick several and remove them in a row.
- It can’t remove apps on its own. Android’s developer documentation lets an ordinary app request an uninstall, which launches Android’s own uninstaller for that one app. That’s why you confirm each app.
- It can’t uninstall some system apps. Google says you can’t delete some system apps that came with your phone; see apps you can’t uninstall.
- It doesn’t make apps smaller. Uninstalling frees the app’s space; if an app is just bloated, clearing its cache may be enough. See how to clear cache on Android.
What to look for in an uninstaller app
- Usage access, only if you want usage data. To show when you last opened each app, an app needs Usage access. Android’s developer documentation says you grant it yourself in Settings.
- Android’s prompt for every app. That’s how an ordinary app removes other apps, and it’s your chance to skip any app you want to keep.
- No need for broad access. Listing and uninstalling apps doesn’t require access to your photos, contacts or messages. See are cleaner apps safe? for what to check before installing one.

CleanX
Uninstall several apps in a row with CleanX
On Android, the Apps tab in CleanX lists the apps you installed, largest first; system apps aren’t listed. Allow Usage access and you can switch to Least used; each app then shows how long you’ve used it or when you last opened it, and sizes include the app’s data and cache. Select the apps you don’t need and tap the uninstall button at the bottom: CleanX opens Android’s uninstall prompt for each one in turn, so you can still say no to any of them.
- Installed apps sorted by size or least used
- Select several, with Android’s confirmation for each
- Free, no CleanX Pro needed
Changed your mind? Reinstall several apps
Back up anything inside an app before you uninstall it, or archive it instead. To get apps back, open Google Play, tap Profile icon › Manage apps & devices › Manage, tap This device › Not installed, select the apps and tap Install. Google says you don’t have to pay again for apps you bought.
Frequently asked questions
Can I uninstall multiple apps at once on Android?
Yes. In Files by Google, the Delete unused apps card lets you select several apps and uninstall them together. Google Play and Settings remove one app at a time.
Why does an uninstaller app ask me to confirm every app?
Android doesn’t let ordinary apps remove other apps on their own. They can only open Android’s uninstaller for one app at a time, and you confirm each.
Can an uninstaller remove pre-installed system apps?
No. Some system apps that came with your phone can’t be deleted. On a Pixel, you can disable most of them in Settings › Apps instead; on other phones, names can differ.
Why does an uninstaller app want Usage access?
Usage access lets an app see when you last used other apps, so it can show which ones you don’t open. You grant it yourself in Settings.
Is the CleanX app uninstaller free?
Yes. Listing, sorting and uninstalling apps in the Apps tab doesn’t need CleanX Pro. The Apps tab is on Android only.
